You may have read the tragic story of the death of "Brownie", Hubert E. Brown. He was badly injured when a drunk driver ran into the back of his tractor on the day after Christmas. Brownie was thrown from his tractor suffering very serious head injuries. Those injuries ultimately took his life.
Brownie was a long time member of the Hamilton County Democratic Party Executive Committee and ran a spirited race for the State legislature just a few years ago. An IBEW member of Local 212. He and his wife Angy lived in a home along the Whitewater River where he proudly hosted any number of Democratic and community events.
Brownie proudly served for over 20 years as a Whitewater Township Trustee, a position he still held at the time of his death. He was an incredibly dedicated public servant playing a leading role in numerous issues. A member of the Sierra Club, he was committed to preserving our natural environment. He was devoted to remembering local history having served as the President of the Miami Historical Society.
As his close friend Tammy Simendinger was quoted saying in this morning’s Enquirer, "He touched so many lives... To me, that is a lasting legacy that so many people would aspire to."
And he will continue to do so after his death as his body has been donated to science. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date and we will let folks know about that when it is scheduled.
Please remember him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Tim Burke, Hamilton County Democratic Party Chair
