Dusty Rhodes was re-elected to a seventh term as Hamilton County Auditor in 2014. In 1990 he became the first Democratic candidate to win a Hamilton County administrative office in two decades and since then has been re-elected every four years.
A Delhi Township Trustee for twenty-one years, he was President of the Hamilton County Township Association for seven years. He served sixteen years on the Board of the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS), chairing the Board for three years. OPERS is one of the nation's largest private pension plans with over $60 billion in assets. He became a licensed investment broker in 1968 and retired from the Cincinnati office of Paine Webber (now UBS) in 1999 after a twenty-one year association.
A long-time Tri-State area radio personality, he began doing a nightly program on WSAI in 1961. During his five years on WSAI he was one of the “Good Guys” who brought the Beatles to Cincinnati during their first American tour in 1964. In the mid 70s he started over a quarter century of Sunday night oldies shows on WKRC, WLW and WGRR. His annual Christmas program continues and has been heard on over 100 stations coast-to-coast over the past 50 years.
A graduate of Syracuse University, he and his wife, Jo Ann, have been married 53 years and have two sons and one grandson. He is a member of the Cincinnatus Association, the Cheviot-Westwood Kiwanis, the Western Hills Community Service Club and many local Democratic clubs.
